“Your soul is an appalling dump heap/Overflowing with the most disgraceful/ Assortment of deplorable rubbish imaginable/ Mangled up in tangled up knots.” ~ You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, The Grinch

An exciting thing about Christmas time is breaking out the Christmas movies!  Just like Christmas music, this is the time to play them like crazy.  Sure, we could watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music any time through the year; but, if you’re doing a Christmas movie marathon in December, you won’t get shunned for it, unlike how you would be for doing so in March.

This year has been a great one for new Christmas movies.  Netflix released some awesome original Christmas movies and I’m loving the Hallmark Channel line up.  While these movies give us new stories and wonderful retakes on familiar stories, the old movies are classic favorites.  Every year, I can be found watching classic Christmas movies.  It’s tradition for my sister and I to watch Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  I make her hot chocolate and get myself coffee.  We still even have the VHS tapes and player to enjoy the movies on.  Talk about an old time feel!

For an evening of fun, you should definitely have some of these classic movies to pick from on your shelf. Snuggle up in blankets with your favorite warm beverage and holiday snack, and get ready to be taken back.
